Monroe (MI) & Hofu (Yamaguchi, Japan) – High school students exchange program

JBSD Foundation Grant program supports Monroe (MI) – Hofu (Yamaguchi, Japan) high school students exchange program through Monroe International Friendship Association (MIFA) デトロイト日本商工会様 春たけなわの季節、デトロイト日本商工会(JBSD)会員の皆様におかれましては、ますます御清栄のこととお喜び申し上げます。 山口県防府市とミシガン州モンロー市は、1992年から両市の高校生を相互に派遣し、ホームステイを通して、文化体験、高校生交流、語学研修などを行う高校生交流事業を実施しています。 1993年5月29日には、姉妹都市提携を締結し、本年で25年を迎えました。 本年4月には、姉妹都市提携締結25周年を記念して、モンロー市の皆様の御好意により、防府市から35名の市民訪問団が、モンロー市を訪問することになります。 これもひとえに、両市の友好親善に御尽力され、両市の交流を長年にわたり力強く御支援くださっている皆様方の御協力によるものであり、心から厚くお礼申し上げます。 今回の市民訪問団のモンロー市への訪問が、両市における次の25年の交流の礎となり、今後益々の交流の発展につながることを期待しています。 末筆ながら、デトロイト日本商工会(JBSD)会員の皆様の御健康と御多幸、並びに今後ますますの御発展を祈念申し上げます。 2018年3月30日 防府市国際交流室長 今川良祐

Our Hurricane Harvey Fundraiser is complete. Thank you very much to everyone who donated to support victims impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. JBSD Foundation raised $19,586.00 total and completed sending the donations to the American Red Cross. JBSD Foundation would like to thank the entire community for their kindness and generosity.
